Our Fresh Fest Mega Case - Vol. 1 (of 3) is for Oktoberfest-celebrating folks who like a little variety in their life. Because, who the heck wants to drink the same beer over and over and over while wearing lederhosen? Plus, there's enough here to share with all your new friends and old neighbors, introducing them to the best damned non-alcoholic craft beer in the country!

Your case of beer will come with a combination of six (6) 4-packs, featuring our two (2) 4-packs of each of our first two 2023 Fresh Fest beers, plus our exclusive Bumbershoot Festival beer, as outlined below. All cans are 16oz., and you will receive a total of (24) 16oz cans.

• 2X PRAGUE ROCK DARK CZECH LAGER

Brewer's Notes: Set the distortion pedals and ambient guitar intro. This doomy gloomy aggressive brew shies away from being some sweet, soft, malt soda. It's as rock as it gets, but not to be confused with that super-weird ass beer style that boils wort using molten hot stones. It’s rooted in a beer style called a Černé (Chair-neigh). Full roasted, full toasty, bitter dark chocolate and yet somehow creamy. I spent years brewing Czech beer styles and wish they were a bit more prevalent. A bit like that metal band you’ve never heard of (we're looking at you Heldscalla). Brewed using all floor malted barley and Saaz hops. With more body and bitterness then our lighter lager offering, but less than our pilsners. So fire up your rig, turn the volume up to 10, not 11, because that’s cliche. This is cerne, it’s coming for you in some sort of 15-minute progressive experience that has become rock and metal. (Also, our marketing guy came up with this cheeky name, and he's still taking victory laps in the parking lot. We're humoring him as usual. He was a big RUSH nerd as a kid and made listeners to his college radio show he DJ'd - both of them, his mom and dad - listen to RUSH's "Chronicles" from start to finish without a commercial break.)

• 2X BLOCK PARTY FEST(IVAL) BIER

Brewer's Notes: This fest beer tribute features only premium German malt. Octoberfest was a bit wild last year and we think we spilled some steins on the brew log. We couldn’t make it out exactly, but we don’t need to. I’m kidding - we had a vision of running a really crisp, fine and sharp pilsner malt. Then building on it more with German specialty in the vein of just mashing the heck outta' it. Germans do some esoteric stuff like decoctions; this builds full rich body of boiling part of the mash. Americans call it a "waste of time"; we just call it aspirational, in that our brewhouse simply can’t do it. We know how to magic the shit outta' the malt body though. Get it while you can, this year's batch was brewed on a seemingly normal day. Everything was going smoothly, until one seagull decided to blow up the transformer on our block during our knockout (filling the fermenter). We were at least able to get half the batch into the tank. The power was out 11 hours, we had to dump the remainder. So consider this amazing brew a ~~Swans~~ Seagulls song.

• 2X BUMBERBREW PNW PILSNER

Brewer's Notes: Okay, let's get this out of the way. Bumbershoot--the most iconic annual music festival in Seattle that visits every Labor Day Weekend--asked us to brew an exclusive non-alcoholic beer for concert-goers. We're still blushing. Anyway, about the beer. Pilsners generally are where nuance meets balance. They're not alls up in-your face like West Coast IPAs can be with mouth-puckering bitterness. Or New England IPAs with coying sweetness. Yet they're also not "guaranteed not to offend" like American lagers. In other words, it's not the band who will melt your face off, nor is it bubble gum pop that will erase all your worries and take you to a happy place. It’s more of a thinking person's beer - like an under-appreciated indie band that's your own little secret. One you can share with those you deem worthy of entering your head space. This beer, like all great bands, has a solid yet complex rhythm section, grounded with a base of Germany’s premier malt house barley. We then built in riffs of Yakima grown hops, featuring a newer American lager hop variety, Loral. The Eukanot hop then jumps to the forefront like Doug Martsch's iconic wailing guitar sounds on Built to Spill's album Perfect from Now On, providing sharp notes of lemon, lime and melon rind bitterness. Keeping this beer unfiltered allows those hop accoutrements to hang around like flavor groupies, with a finish that balances your experience like the perfect encore can balance out a live set - enough bitterness to not seem sweet, yet still flavorful enough to appease the hopheads that crush IPA’s only.

PLEASE NOTE: like other beverage industries have been doing for centuries, we mitigate the potential for bacterial growth in other ways, rather than to pasteurize and destroy the nuanced flavors that make our beer stand out from many pasteurized non-alcoholic beer offerings, though we do acknowledge pasteurization is the most effective way to inhibit bacterial growth, or potential for refermentation in the can. Risk may be exacerbated by prolonged warm storage, so to mitigate risk, always cold-store Self Care immediately upon receipt, and avoid exposure to extreme heat.
