Description: Head brewer Aaron Blonden has a background in lager wort production, and over a decade of experience innovating within the style, including winning both Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup awards for his pilsner recipes. And he's super excited to continue to bring his knowledge and experience to the world of NA lager once again, with a third rendition of non-alcoholic Italian pilsner.

Traditionally Italian pilsners are European malted lagers that are then dry-hopped to infuse floral or possibly spicy notes to the beverage. This lager was hopped in the kettle with a Saaz hops, and the grain bill consisted of authentic Italian pilsner malt grown by the Adriatic Sea. It was then dry hopped with Contessa hops - an American hop that is perfect for Italian style pilsners. Contessa is basically a cross between Fuggle and Cascade hops, and has strong German noble hop characteristics with aromas of floral fields, light pear, soft green tea and lemongrass.

WARNING: similar to many juices, kombucha, and other beverages you'll find in the grocery store, this product has not been pasteurized, and therefore may contain harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness in children, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems.
PLEASE NOTE: like other beverage industries have been doing for centuries, we mitigate the potential for bacterial growth in other ways, rather than to pasteurize and destroy the nuanced flavors that make our beer stand out from many pasteurized non-alcoholic beer offerings, though we do acknowledge pasteurization is the most effective way to inhibit bacterial growth, or potential for refermentation in the can. Risk may be exacerbated by prolonged warm storage, so to mitigate risk, always cold-store Self Care immediately upon receipt, and avoid exposure to extreme heat.
