Description: Brewed exclusively with Skagit Valley malts. Hotside hopping gently done with Idaho 7 from Crosby Hops. Dry hopped with both Idaho 7 and Citra grown in Yakima. Welcome to the first day of taking care of yourself. Less guilt of calories and effects of Alcohol. Hopefully this new option is an enjoyable beverage for listening to what the body craves. This is the perfect beer to "reset" your beer-lovin' body if you're opting-in to Sober October.
Notes from Aaron: I've wanted to do this style for over a year. Sometimes sitting back and thinking about it this long helps. Sometimes it hurts and you just have to stop overthinking it and give it a go. Can it taste exactly like beer? Somewhat. This very process is just like brewing but we don't need a surplus of sugars for yeast to go after. The grain has to be processed for flavor and character and only fermented a fraction of the normal goal. You really have to restrain the bittering. You would be surprised how few IBU's this is - but it doesn't taste like it. Don't worry, there's plenty of hops in the cold side though!
WARNING: similar to many juices, kombucha, and other beverages you'll find in the grocery store, this product has not been pasteurized, and therefore may contain harmful bacteria that can cause serious illness in children, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems.
PLEASE NOTE: like other beverage industries have been doing for centuries, we mitigate the potential for bacterial growth in other ways, rather than to pasteurize and destroy the nuanced flavors that make our beer stand out from many pasteurized non-alcoholic beer offerings, though we do acknowledge pasteurization is the most effective way to inhibit bacterial growth, or potential for refermentation in the can. Risk may be exacerbated by prolonged warm storage, so to mitigate risk, always cold-store Self Care immediately upon receipt, and avoid exposure to extreme heat.
